UNM Online recently celebrated the achievements of faculty members who took part in the Foundational Course Design Review. This initiative, facilitated by the Center for Teaching & Learning, aimed to enhance the quality of online education by providing instructors with personalized instructional design support and external feedback. Guided by UNM’s Online Learning Excellence Framework, instructors dedicated themselves to improving online teaching practices and student engagement, showcasing a commitment to academic excellence and continual growth.
Participating instructors were not only recognized for their efforts but were also eligible for a $500 stipend as a token of appreciation. Beyond financial incentives, instructors gained valuable insights into effective online teaching methodologies, received acknowledgment for their dedication to educational quality, and progressed towards achieving Golden Paw Certification, the highest accolade for an online course at UNM.
Congratulations were extended to the instructors who successfully completed the summer Foundational Course Design Review, including Yury Bosin, Marjori Krebs, Jesse Aleman, Tammy Thomas, and Adam Papendieck. These educators exemplified a commitment to enhancing the online learning experience for students in courses ranging from Middle Eastern Politics to American Literature and Maternal Child Health Seminar.
UNM Online offers a range of opportunities for instructors to refine their course design skills throughout the year. Online instructors based at the Albuquerque Main Campus interested in participating in future course reviews were encouraged to express their interest by completing an online form.
