Charles Darwin University (CDU) has introduced a new discount scheme to promote lifelong learning opportunities for its alumni. This initiative, effective from Semester 1, 2025, offers a 10% fee reduction on eligible postgraduate courses for graduates who meet the specified criteria. To qualify as CDU alumni, individuals must have completed an award course ranging from Certificate I to a Diploma, Bachelor degrees, Graduate Certificates, Master degrees, or Higher degrees by Research. The discount is exclusively available to domestic students starting their studies in Semester 1, 2025.
CDU’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Scott Bowman, emphasized the significance of this initiative in recognizing the University’s enduring relationship with the Northern Territory community. Professor Bowman highlighted the University’s pivotal role in the educational journeys of many Territorians, underscoring the importance of facilitating career advancement through postgraduate education. The discount is also extended to alumni from Northern Territory University, Darwin Institute of Technology, Darwin Community College, and Centralian College, irrespective of their graduation year.
The discount remains applicable throughout the entire course duration, subject to meeting all requirements. It does not cover units from external institutions or organizations, with academic progress and enrollment periodically reviewed. For further details, interested parties can reach out to CDU Future Students at study@cdu.edu.au or call 1800 061 963 toll-free.
In related news, a recent CDU graduate, amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, transitioned to a role supporting the mental health and well-being of primary school students in Darwin. This exemplifies the diverse career trajectories and positive societal impact fostered by CDU’s educational programs.
Furthermore, CDU’s ascent in the 2026 QS World University Rankings to 584 marks a significant achievement, defying national trends and underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. This progress reflects CDU’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global standing and provide quality education to students.
Artistic endeavors at CDU are also flourishing, with Visual Arts student Hayley Panangka Coulthard showcasing her Western Aranda heritage through a clay exhibition in Alice Springs. This cultural expression exemplifies CDU’s commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural diversity among its students.
As CDU continues to evolve and empower individuals through education, its dedication to fostering lifelong learning opportunities for alumni underscores a commitment to academic growth and professional development in the Northern Territory and beyond.
